tolerance to a hole wizard feature

(OP)
I want to add a tolerance to the hole callout when I'm detailing it in a drawing.
I have a part that has 2x dia. 3.1 holes 6dp c 0.2 and I want to put a tolerance of +0.2 -0 on the callout of 3.1.  If I 2x click on the dim and go to tolerance it is all grayed out.  This was dimed with the hole callout button
We are using 2003 and testing 2004 and haven't got it to work in either.
The only way I have found to get around this is by using the dimension button and force the notes myself.  The draw back is I still don't get the tol. in the right place, it wants to go on the chamfer discription and I will loose my link to the part.

Any help would be great and thanks in advance.

RE: tolerance to a hole wizard feature

I just attempted to do what you described and dad-gummitt it didn't work.  It sure should.  Another work around, albeit not elegant, is to modify text in the hole callout.  You can add your tolerance all on one line. It would look something like this:
3.1 +.2/-0 yada yada yada.

Like I said, not elegant but a work around.
Hope that helps and at least know you have someone in agreement with you in this situation.

RE: tolerance to a hole wizard feature

I believe this is a limitation to the software. You will need to put in an enhancement request.

... but you might try this... try editing the calloutformat.txt file located under your C:\Program Files\SolidWorks\lang\english

SBaugh,

Sounds like a good idea, but not sure how to go about it cause I don't see anywhere in the txt file that it talks about tolerances.

RE: tolerance to a hole wizard feature

That's why I seem to think it's a limitation. If I remember right I discussed this with a customer of mine and I found this to a limitation and the only request was to place in an enhancement request. There were other ways to get around it, but you can't do it with one hole callout dimension.
