Junction of cone with shell of column
Junction of cone with shell of column
(OP)
If somebody would be able to help me.
I must calculated junction of cone with shell of column in accordance with ASME rules Div VIII. This junction is a line of support for calculation column on external pressure. But I do not know how to mark axial force acting on cone. Her signature is "f1" and measured in [lb/in].
I know that this forces due to dead weight own columns over cone, windforces etc but I do not understand why is expressed in [lb/in].
I first time work with ASME Code.
I will be grateful too every answer or address of internet page where I would be able to find example such calculations.
Matter is very urgent.

RE: Junction of cone with shell of column
An example of a cone to cylinder juncture calculation is in App.L, but don't know whether this covers your doubts.
