Where can I find information on the differences between impulse and reaction turbines on the internet?

RE: impulse and reaction turbines

ris2,

I suggest that you become proficient in the use of the "google" search engine (www.google.com). Google is one of the best things that has ever happened to engineering

Also, install the google toolbar (if you can) on your browser.......It has saved me much time and effort.

Oh yeah, your question......

Try www.tpub.com/fluid/ch3c.htm  ;

I found it searching  using the strings: impulse reaction turbines....

Try  www.ku.edu.np/mech/Tutorials/steamturbine.pdf also

RE: impulse and reaction turbines

General Electric Co, www.ge.com, on on their power systems division web page has some GER papers that can be found on their web site that does a good job of explaining the difference.  Funny, GE was always the 'impulse' turbine co, while Westinghouse has been the 'reaction' turbine manufacturer, and now GE seems to be finding that reaction stages, which infers that there are more of them, might be the way to go.  Do you think Thomas Edison still has more to learn from George Westinghouse, and Telsa, since he switched from DC to AC and did it George's way???

There is a lot of technical information if you can find them.  I found them via Google.
