We need to carry out mineral wool insulation of 6 inch seamless pipe with operating temp of 120deg celcius.Do we need to do any painting before insulation or the insulation work can be carried out on bare pipe.

You have opened up a big can of worms!

Please come back of the piping material C/S, S/S, etc all.
Do you have an active/effective insulation maintenance program?
