Looking for a possible friction welding contractor in the Houston area - any leads?

RE: Friction Welding Service

I haven't heard of one in Houston. You would think there would be with all the work around there. I did have one that was in Louisiana but the link is dead.  The two that I’m familiar with are
American Friction Welding Inc and Spinweld Inc.  I know American is in Wisconsin and think Spinweld is also.
They were quite a few people in it a one time but I haven’t seen much activity other than seeing a few parts that have been friction welded.

Here is website with locator service.

MTI in South Bend, IN is another manufacturer with contract services available.  They may be able to provide you with a lead on a customer in TX:

Carburize,

Please see the FAQ Internet Resources on FSW (FAQ725-478). There is a lot of good information to search through.

Thanks "MLoew" however, I am not interested in FSW I just need a local source for conventional FW of cylindrical sections.

RE: Friction Welding Service

Carburize,

OK, I was hoping that you could use the resources for FSW to use in searching for cylindrical Friction welding as well. Here is what I was able to find:

Here are some additional vendors you may wish to contact, including one in Texas:
Drill Pipe Industries, Inc. Texarkana, TX
:(www.drillpipeindustries.com)
American Friction Welding, Inc. Brookfield , WI (www.teamafw.com)
Spinweld, Inc. Milwaukee , WI (www.spinweld.com)
ARD Industries Ltd. Cambridge , ON (www.ardindustries.com)
NCT Friction Welding Newington , CT (www.nctfrictionwelding.com)
Interface Welding Carson, CA (www.interfacewelding.com)
Inertia Friction Welding South Bend , IN (www.ifweld.com)
Manufacturing Technology, Inc. South Bend , IN (www.mti.com)

I found these mostly through Thomas Register (www.thomasregister.com) and by Googling.
