Wrapped curves on Cylindrical surfaces

Wrapped curves on Cylindrical surfaces

(OP)
Hi,
I have a profile that I would like to pattern it over a cylindrical surface. I have tried to wrap the profile over the cylindrical surface and then extrude it, but it turns into a sheet. How can I create a solid body out of this method?
Is it possible to pattern a general pad?
Please do help, as I am just starting off with UG.

Thanks you
sansvk

RE: Wrapped curves on Cylindrical surfaces

You want to reverse the direction of creation, that is put your sketch on an offset tangent plane and extrude upto body or surface instead of specifying depth.

Then you can control the height with the offset datum.
