Does anyone know what the difference is between Actual Volume and the Free Air Displacement Volume when dealing with pneumatic actuators?

RE: pneumatic actuators

Free volume is at atmospheric pressure, actual volume will be at working pressure. Actual volume is free volume plus compression volume.

If I have the actual volume and the free air displacement, can  I calculate the required CFM's without knowing the stroke of the actuator?

RE: pneumatic actuators

To know the volume a cylinder will use during actuation will require knowing the bore size, rod diameter, stroke, speed of actuation in both directions, and working pressure.
For simple applications bore, stroke, and cycle time plus 20% will be enough for most applications to size other system components.
