this oil cooler have louvered center(performance

The computation for hydraulic diameter is simple. However, determining the inputs to the formula may be rather challenging. According to Hesselgreaves in Compact Heat Exchangers: Selection, Design, and Operation, if the hydraulic diameter is dh, the internal (or wetted) volume of the heat exchanger passages is Vs, and the wetted surface area of the heat exchanger passages is As, then the hydraulic diameter is given by the expression: dh=4Vs/As.
