R13 Upgrade

R13 Upgrade

(OP)
I am considering upgrading R13 to 2004. I need tangible justification. Our business is oilfield manufacturing and field operations related. Will I recover the $5000 CAD per seat in 1 year? Through what efficiencies? Having the latest revision in itself is not meaningful to our business nor our customers. I need a payback.

What are the real benefits?

RE: R13 Upgrade

If it's really $5,000 for ACAD, you should consider the leap to a parametric modeler.

I find using layouts and paperspace in the 2xxx versions much more efficient than in r14 (sorry, I never used r13) - I'm skeptical of recovering $5k in a year, though. I guess it depends on your burden rate.

Do you do mostly 2D stuff or is there need for 3D work? If so, the 3D tools in 2xxx are much better than r14.
