High Voltage color code

High Voltage color code

High Voltage color code

(OP)
Hi every body.

I'm looking for the color code for high voltage.  I have a line of 13.2 kV into conduit and I painted it red.  The firemen said me that the red is the color for conduit of water agains fire

I need to know the UNIVERAL color for painting the conduit that indicate that it is a line of 13.2 kV

Thanks,

RE: High Voltage color code

R-ed  Y-ellow  B-lue are letters for high voltage
what means that colours are . . . .

RE: High Voltage color code

For the conduit itself (not the cables) we use labeling indicating "Danger high voltage" the voltage level (13.2kV in youre case) and the lighting symbol this is repeated several times over the lenght of the conduit.
We use in that case no colours to prevent mixups like indicated by youre local firefighter.  Air, acid, water ... all have theyre specific colour.

Regards,

Danny

RE: High Voltage color code

All conduits with HV we recommend "Danger High Voltage" Sticker ever 10 ft.  The conduit itself is usually not painted red.  The conduit is usually white.

This is the case in my experiences.  I'm sure there is a code.

RE: High Voltage color code

In the U.S. red is usually reserved for fire protection systems. I rarely see power conduits painted. "Danger High Voltage" or "Danger 13,200 volts" every 10ft and on pull boxes is most common.
