C1008 temper pass CQ sheet
C1008 temper pass CQ sheet
(OP)
Hi Folks.
Again I am coming to, I am sure, the right place to ask for assistance. We roll c1008 temper pass sheet using a CNC roller. The sheet vary between 72"x30" to 120" x 40".We are not able to get consistency on the radius from one end to the other. We need to find a site (beside ASTM) that gives us the yield stength and the modulus of elasticity of this material (or of any material if possible).
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Imaz

The elastic modulus (Young's modulus) for steel is mostly invariant to alloying, so a value of 207 GPa is typically used. Yield strength is highly dependent on a number of variables, including chemical composition, thermomechanical process history, etc. You will not find one yield strength value for temper-passed 1008 steel. It is this reason, as well as the uncertainty in your CNC roll forming process (strain rate, lubrication, etc.) that causes variability in the radius. In order to solve or mostly solve this problem, you should specify the minimum and maximum yield strength of the product you purchase, and then have the supplier certify that this range has been met.
