Motor voltage and current measurement in a class 1 div 1 group d area

(OP)
I need to record the voltage (0 to 40Vdc) and current (0 to 20 Amps) of a automotive fuel pump in a class 1 div 1 group d lab environment.  The fuel pump has a standard automotive connector and is powered by a lab type power supply.  My data acquisition system is in a purged x type cabinet and I need to connect to the motor so that I meet code.  Any suggestion on the safest way to do this would be greatly appreciated.  The system is to be built and installed in the USA.  Thank you,

John Svendor
