Dimension to Intersection

Does anyone know how to create a dimension in the drawing mode that will go from on intersection of two lines to another intersection of two lines?

RE: Dimension to Intersection

You could create a point at the intersections and dimension to these new points. Control select the intersecting lines and add your points.

That works.  I didn't know how to get a point at the intersection, but the Ctrl suggestion works great.

Thanks.

RE: Dimension to Intersection

Look up the help on "virtual sharps".  It's a standard feature - been there forever and it works great.  You can even select the type of display for the virtual sharp point.

RE: Dimension to Intersection

As a slight aside, I have tried to use virtual sharps on a part similar to a styrofoam cup but having a large radius at the bottom.

While dimensioning the sketch revolution profile I was unable to find 'virtual sharps' at the bottom external corner of the bottom radius.

I'm probably missing something, as this should be a 'can do'. Help??

RE: Dimension to Intersection

You probably have to add teh Virtual Sharps manually.  Just CTRL-select the tangent lines to your radius, and click on the Sketch Point tool to add one.

RE: Dimension to Intersection

MadMango is right - because there really is no intersection out there that is can recognize.
