Can anyone suggest a good source for learning Cosmos?

Can anyone suggest a good source for learning Cosmos?

Can anyone suggest a good source for learning Cosmos?

(OP)
I am currently evaluating Cosmos for Solidworks.  I am having trouble with surface loading.  For instance I want to load only the right half of an object's top surface, not the entire top surface.  If anyone can suggest a book, guide, or tutorial of some sort it would be greatly appreciated.  Thankyou.

I know that Cosmos does WebCasts.  They have been after me like wihte on rice to get them to conduct a WebCast with them just because I said I was interested in what it offered.  Have you contacted your software dealer?

Use a Split line from the INSERT/CURVES/SPLITLINE....

This was giving me trouble for a while too...

See the Cosmos documentation, available after install. You have several examples that you can follow in the Tutorial Manual.

To control restraint placement/area, the way is like NickE said. You must do it with Solidworks features (not Cosmos features) by previously creating splitlines giving you the needed geometry.

Guys, you are right!  My model was far too simplistic.  I had no definitions for different portions of the top surface (the top is all on the same plane).  This is an AutoCAD dwg imported as a simple 3d solid to SolidWorks and then analyzed straight away with Cosmos.  I was looking to easily countrol load placement with Cosmos.  Coming from my AutoCAD background I had no concept of splitlines or what they could do for me.  Intoducing these to my model will help me better define my loading.
I was going to build another solid the shape of the loading that I wanted and try to press the two together which I see now would have been silly :)  Thanks!

Yes the trick i found was to get as detailed geometry as you can of the loading areas, esp when doing assemblys. I've got this great working conical spring stack took 30mins once I modified the geometry to mimic the loading, Its not really the exact condition, nor the proper final geometry anymore but it will analyze and give some results. I have to build the same assembly in teh real world and test now.
