Configuration factor in swing check valves

Configuration factor in swing check valves

(OP)
Please send me complete information about these matters as possible as you can:

1:What is a configuration factor of a swing check valve and how can I calculate it?(in other hand, how many factors this factor depends on?)

2:How can I calculate the pressure drop in swing check valve?

With all of my thanks.

I am not sure what you want with question 1

A solution to Number 2
Contact the valve manufactorer for the pressure drop, they will have charts of flow verse delta P.  If your fliud is not water you will have to adjust the values.  Each design and size of check valve will have it own curve, none of which will be linear.

RE: Configuration factor in swing check valves

Only use a swing check if you have larger solids than 25% based on your line size. The site below can help you with sizing your check valve to the specific application. Check out this site to solve your problem.

RE: Configuration factor in swing check valves

You can estimate the dP through a check valve using typical resistance factors, Crane technical paper 410 is just one example, see pages A-27 and A-28.  They are okay for preliminary design where you don't have any information.  If it's an existing check valve, as suggested, you are best contacting the manufacturer.
