Plz suggest Books for Pre Engineered Steel Truss Design.

1. Building Width above 150 feet.
2. roof slope in the range of 1:7.5 to 1:10
3. columns of the building will be like a human leg.

Hope I have managed to explain the type of truss and column work, for which I need reference book for design.

Plz help.

RE: Suggest Books for Pre Engineered Steel Trusses Design

pasachi,

Pre-engineered steel trusses are designed by the fabricator.  The designer specify on the drawings the critical dimensions and the loads.   If you are only interested on the trusses, you could contact a joist girder fabricator.   If they are interested in the job they would answer any questions you may have on what to show on the drawings.    In the USA, I would contact Vulcraft.   Their catalog shows spans up to 100 feet, but they could provide a special design for your span.

If what you are looking for is a rigid frame consisting of the columns and the truss, you could contact a pre-engineered building manufacturer.

I must thank Mr.dlew for his kind advice.

I like to clarify that presently the concern in which i am working is fabricating conventional trussess for sheds. They are intrested to fabricate Pre-Engineered truss and columns, as i have noted in my previous posting.

So it will be very much helpful, if any one can suggest reference books for its design.

How about using STAAD-Pro FEM package. This software can be used for modelling any type of structure with various load cases and support conditions. I heard of one company M/S Kirby building systems based in Kuwait who is pioneer in preengineered steel structures. I understand they use STAAD software
