Programmable Ignition Curve

Programmable Ignition Curve

Programmable Ignition Curve

(OP)
Has anyone out there seen a unit that intercepts the pickup signal before the CDI on a motorcycle and allows a small amount of retard/advance to be controlled over the entire rev range. I ask this as the class I am racing in requires the standard CDI to be in used. I made an adjustable pickup plate but I feel there can be some usefull gains if the ignition curve can be optimised.
Any help appreciated.
Michael Burgess.

RE: Programmable Ignition Curve

The vortex unit looks good however it only will handle a single cylinder machine. I am thinking along the lines of a device that reads the rpm (frequency)from the pickup on the end of the crank & delay's (retards) the signal by a an amount on a lookup table that can be programmed. If I advance the pickup plate by 10deg then am able to program in an amount of retard so I can adjust the adv/retard across the entire rev range???????
I am not that advanced with electronics but I think it is possible.
Regards.

RE: Programmable Ignition Curve

Look at the powercommander from dynojet.com or powercommander.com
It is a 3D mappable fuel and ignition intercepter piggyback for high rpm motor cycles.
