Rocker arm failure

Rocker arm failure

(OP)
Can anyone help in explaining what could cause the rocker arm of a 17.5 KVA lister petter to break

RE: Rocker arm failure

How about valve sticking to valve guide?
Dirt in lub oil?
Incorrect valve clearance?

RE: Rocker arm failure

Would suggest you check valve springs for weakness or fracture, the security of the valve stem collet or retaining device i.e. circlip and check for heavy carbon build up causing the valve to jam. Finally, if none of the above, check the timing.
