EN 60034-1, Voltage Gradient

EN 60034-1, Voltage Gradient

Good People,

What is voltage gradient in 6.5, EN 60034-1?
(IEC 60034-1 should have the same wording.)

It reads:
"For a.c. motors the manufacturer shall declare a limiting value for the peak voltage and for the voltage gradient in continuous operation."

Also what does this requirement mean?

Thank you.

RE: EN 60034-1, Voltage Gradient

I would believe that in this reference, voltage gradient refers to the turn-to-turn voltage ... or the voltage across a coil from beginning turn to ending turn.

Perhaps a better place to post this question would be -
  • IEC (electrical) Code Issues forum
    Forum249
  • IEC (electrotechnical) Code Issues forum
    Forum741
