These guys like to charge for their articles but the first one is free. So check this one out about the surfacing abilities of Pro/E compared to Solidworks. Their articles are usually to short to be worth buying. Yet, this one is actually a pretty good review with a detailed and accurate comparison of what you can do.

The big question is with all of the financial losses PTC is taking how long till Dassault or EDS gobbles it up.

RE: great pro/E vrs Solidworks article

I don't think either of them want the headache that would cause. The only reason would be market share buying and then Pro/E would be as valuable/usefull as Computervison CADDS5.

You also have to look at what the justice department would say if there were only 2 competitors. It would depend on the market share of each plus maybe AutoDesk, cause there isn't anyone else with any significant market share to even speak about.

RE: great pro/E vrs Solidworks article

How serious is this problem of "PTC's financial losses" problem from user point of view?  I am a small user with single seat of Pro-E.  Any latest info on this issue?
