What version of AutoCAD or other are you using?

RE: How do you edit staked text?

I'm using AutoCad 2000. when i 1st started the text the autostack properties box came up and asked me if i want to autostack. So i clicked yes and closed the dialog box. but the "Don't Show This Dialog Again; Always Use These Settings" was checked.

How do i get that box back? nowhere in the book or the help says anything about unstacking text or how to get the autostack dialog box back after checking the "Don't Show This Dialog Again"

thanx for the help

RE: How do you edit staked text?

According to AutoDESK Knowledge Base ID: TS42820

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123...

Solution

To activate the AutoStack dialog box:

In the Multiline Text Editor, enter a text string that contains a stack character, for example, 1/2

Highlight the text you entered and right-click.

From the shortcut menu, select Stack.

After the string is converted to a single stacked character, highlight it.

Right-click again, and select Properties.

In the Stack Properties dialog box, select the AutoStack button.

In the AutoStack Properties dialog box, clear the "Don't show this dialog again" dialog box option, if you want this dialog box to always display.

Hope this helps.

i'v been tring to do that.

from my origanal post:

"when i do that i dont have a properties option i have
reformatting and change case but no properties."

The problem is that i don't get the properties option when i highlight and right click the text... i think because it is set to "Don't Show This Dialog Again; Always Use These Settings"

I need to be able to get to the autostack properties a different way i guess... because i can't get that option.

thanx for the input

ok... i think i got it..  there seems to be 2 different shortcut
menus depending on how it is stacked. if i highlight 1/2 before it stacks i get a stack option when i right dlick. if i highlight 1/2 after it stacks i get the menu without any stack option.

thanx for the all the help cparnell.
