Kynar & Sulfuric Acid Problems

Kynar & Sulfuric Acid Problems

Kynar & Sulfuric Acid Problems

(OP)
We have been hearing that Kynar does not hold up well to  93% sulfuric acid but is fine for lesser concentrations.  Does anyone have any experience with using Kynar for Sulfuric Acid in such concentrations?  Will the piping fall apart?

RE: Kynar & Sulfuric Acid Problems

I tried using Kynar Pumps for 93% sulfuric acid and it was a disaster.  As for piping i dont know but I would recomend you research this very carefully before installing any Kynar materials on your Acid piping/pumping system.

RE: Kynar & Sulfuric Acid Problems

Most industrial users use plain carbon steel for commercial grade sulfuric acid, if that is what you are handling.
