In the process of sizing a dust collection system for a chemical process, it has been suggested to me to use a fan with GRP wheel/blades.
What is GRP?  Has it been used in industrial applications for long? What is it's chemical resistance (process uses Caustic Soda)?

RE: GRP fan

something- (graphite?) reinforced plastic?

RE: GRP fan

If I am right, GRP is Glass Reinforced Plastic.  Supposed to be a chemically inert material.  Have seen this material being used for water tanks, holding tanks, etc.

RE: GRP fan

Sriram is right. GRP is FRP. It is Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic. I saw lot many chemical scrubbers fitted with GRP fans. For structural rigidity, sometimes, FRP (GRP) is coated on carbon steen fan volute and impeller.
