i loaned my laptop to my friend and when he returned it i could not connect to the internet anymore...i asked him he told me he uninstalled a MSDL or something like that ans each time i try to log on there will be an SQl error on the task menu...b4 it will indicate that there is no browser.

Please how can i restore this... my laptop is on XP .

RE: cant connect to the internet

Have you tried re-installing either the browser or Windows XP itself ?

RE: cant connect to the internet

If it's XP, you can do a system restore to a point prior to when your "friend" mucked with your system.  It should be in the System Tools folder in the Start Menu

yes i have tried restoring it but that did not work too, i think i will just have to restore the xp but i am afraid it will muck up all the data and stuff i got in the pc.

RE: cant connect to the internet

That's actually what I meant, a full system restore.  System restore does not mess up data, but it will undo any installations you've done in the meantime.
