SUBSTATION AUTOMATION
SUBSTATION AUTOMATION
(OP)
Could anyone recommend good reference books, websites for substation automation?
When was the last time you drove down the highway without seeing a commercial truck hauling goods?

RE: SUBSTATION AUTOMATION
Penwell, sponsor of distributech publishes a magazine called Utility Automation. You may also want to check out a book by John McDonald, titled "Electric Power Substations Engineering", by CRC Press. If you look on page 7-7 you will see a picture of our NOC dispatch center and on page 7-9 is one of our substation installations.
Mr. McDonald will conduct a day course on Substation Integration and Automation at Distributech, which I have attended in the past. This is a good introduction on the subject of Substation Automation. Hope this helps.
RE: SUBSTATION AUTOMATION
I wish I could attend that course suggested by you - actually we are geographically so far away, that it would not be possible for me to attend that course. I will check out on the book. Thank you.
RE: SUBSTATION AUTOMATION
I recently found this interesting web site:
http://www.uac.ch/products.htm
There you will find an interesting new book: "Substation Automation Handbook",its accompanying CD and another links as well.
