Does anyone know the formula for converting knoop to vickers. I am using a 500 gram load. I have charts, but they are not complete. Thanks in advance.

RE: Convert Knoop to Vickers

Try www.radiatronics.com they have been a great source for us. or Teledyne Vsaco don't have web site for them.

RE: Convert Knoop to Vickers

ASTM E 140 Table 2 is the definitive correlation.

RE: Convert Knoop to Vickers

9two5,

ASTM E 140 or DIN 50150 are the only appropriate references for conversion of hardness values.  You can obtain these standards from ASTM or DIN directly, or from Global Engineering Documents:

Thanks for the help, ASTM E140 was what I was looking for.
