sound waves & calculation of pressure

(OP)

Dear Members ,

Pl. help me to the calculation of Sound pressure from  a given 160 desibles.

Thanks in advance.
Kvram.

RE: sound waves & calculation of pressure

if the value of reference for dB is

p0=20·10^-6 Pa

then the equation that gives p from the Level of pressure in dB (=150) is

150=20·log(p/p0)

that solved gives

p=632.465 Pa
or
p=6.449·10^-3 kgf/cm^2

RE: sound waves & calculation of pressure

and 160 dB=3000 Pa, roughly. Grin

Cheers

Greg Locock

RE: sound waves & calculation of pressure

2000 Pa
