     I am researching information for an upcoming K1c test.  I need some information on prefatigueing and the compliance method.Could anybody please refer me to a book or relevent website

You should read ASTM E 1820 Standard Test Method for Measurement of Fracture Toughness.  This provides comprehensive information regarding fracture toughness testing, including fatigue pre-cracking and the compliance unloading technique.  You can obtain this standard from ASTM International at:
