Can AutoCAD or inventor be used for Fabric design, tents or air supported structures.

Do you think a the CAD program for light sheet metal design would work?

I also would like to do some FEA for wind loads on the stucture.

ACAD - Not really

Inventor or other sheet metal package - perhaps.

One concern with the sheet metal approach is that you'd probably need to do some programming to account for the stretch in the fabric.
