HIGH SPEED DIESEL day tank fire protection system

(OP)
Hello friends,
I want to put you all a doubt which I am having concerning sprinkler system
We are dealing with EPC business. We are planning to have a high speed diesel day tank of 990 litres capacity for a emergency diesel generator in a combined cycle power project. How to minimise or to have sprinkler system removed for  the same? Which standard paves way for it? What are your advices? Please explain in detail.

RE: HIGH SPEED DIESEL day tank fire protection system

In the usa, normally dry type or dry type preaction system is provided. I don't think you can eliminate it, because of Codes and insurance requirements.

You may wish to check local codes and consult insurance compnay requriements (of the property).

RE: HIGH SPEED DIESEL day tank fire protection system

I suggest that you check out NFPA 37, (Standard for the Installation and Use of Stationary Combustion Engines and Gas Turbines 2002 Edition), Section 11.4 for the fire protection requirements, as well as Chapter 6.
