Slug Catcher areas of sludge build up

Slug Catcher areas of sludge build up

Slug Catcher areas of sludge build up

(OP)
In addition to my previous post. Other than in the base of the slugcatcher, has anyone experienced significant build up in other sections? separation section, intermediate section or receiving section fingers.

Thanks
Ian

RE: Slug Catcher areas of sludge build up

scanguy,
zdas04 gave you a quite comprehensive answer in the previous thread.Your question is however difficult to answer as this is related to several disciplines as per the list hereafter which is not exhaustive:
1) type of reservoir and reservoir matrix , type of well completion and sand packings (if any for loose sand reservoirs);
2) type of produced fluids -gas,condensate,oil,waters and their physical properties (dedensity,viscosity,etc)and composition,solids entained,flow rates,etc
3)reservoir simulation jobs,acid or fracture jobs to improve reservoir permeability;
4)stage of reservoir production when pipeline pigging is done- start up,maturity,etc as the reservoir fluid composition will change and quantity of entrained solids will increase ,
5) corrosivity of the process fluids, level of the upstream separation if any,state of the pipeline;type of pigging,etc
6)the most important,the design of your slug catcher (capacity of each section for a proper separation and then accumulation ) vs. all above points and vs.the liquid/solid volums expected.
So you may have to get an answer from each concerned Specialist for all above points and as such the informations you are looking for.
