Drawing & Testing Simple Logic Diagrams

Drawing & Testing Simple Logic Diagrams

Drawing & Testing Simple Logic Diagrams

(OP)
I work in heavy mechanical engineering, but I have to communicate logic controls descriptions to the guys who actually program the controller. Although the systems are simple, it is important that they are correct.
At present I draw in Excel and have created my own logic gates so that if I change an input from 1 to 0, I can see the output change - but it is tedious and cumbersome to edit.
I am looking for a simple drawing package for the logic diagram where I can manipulate the inputs to test that the desired output is achieved.

I don't know (or care) which PLC will be used, so I do not want a system specific to a particular PLC.

Excuse the advert, please take a look at
www.controldraw.com
You can draw logic diagrams (among Many other things) and make them run.

RE: Drawing & Testing Simple Logic Diagrams

The LogixPro simulator available at www.thelearningpit.com has an I/O simulator. However, it is an RSLogix simulator so you will have to use AB ladder code for programming.

RE: Drawing & Testing Simple Logic Diagrams

Or just create each of your Excel objects as VBA objects.  Then you can "connect them together, and verify outputs....
