RE: where can i get information?

A nice easy guide to welding processes, brazing, NDT etc try   http://www.meg.co.uk/

The cheapest and best books on welding are from the lincoln foundation http://www.lincolnelectric.com/ ; ‘The welding procedure handbook’  and ‘Metals and how to weld them’ are highly recommended.

If you want more academic information try http://www.twi.co.uk/ You have to register but its free and available to all.

There is also lots of information available on my site http://www.gowelding.com/ plus links to many other sites.

Have fun

RE: where can i get information?

Congratulation, DAN ! No, you are NOT wasting your time, you are investing your time into your future -- learning is the best investment anyone your age can make.

Where are you located ? Is there any e.g. public or university library close to you ? Can you access them ?

Do not hesitate to ask questions -- the only stupid question is what you DON't ask.

Good luck !
