motor enclosures

(OP)
For years I have heard motor enclosure definitions in terms of "open/drip proof", "TEFC ... totally enclosed fan cooled" but have not seen a formal definition of especially the first one, ODP. Does anyone know of a definition source? And, does any one know of a source that compares the American ODP, TEFC, etc to the International Protection rating system for enclosures for motors and other devices?

RE: motor enclosures

rluxton,

Perhaps you can try the following website;

hope it is helpful.
