Truck Stop/Service Centre sanitary flow generation

Truck Stop/Service Centre sanitary flow generation

Truck Stop/Service Centre sanitary flow generation

(OP)
Hello,

We've been approached to look at the stormwater and sanitary sewer design for a truck stop/service centre. I'm looking for any standards or "rules of thumb" for sanitary flows from truck stops and their associated restaurants.

We're already looking at possibly getting some water records from 2 other truck stops in the area.

Thanks
Dave

RE: Truck Stop/Service Centre sanitary flow generation

Water use records would be an excellent place to start.  You may also want to contact the environmental agency who will review your plans and see if they have standards.  Here are three other sources of information:

Design and Construction of Sanitary and Storm Sewers, ASCE Manual of Practice No. 37

Wastewater Systems Engineering, Homer W. Parker

Community Water Systems Source Book, Joseph S. Ameen

I've found these very useful sources over 40 years in practice but, there are many others.

Good Luck
