mold for lap-shear specimens

I am pouring polyurethane onto adhesive-applied metal coupon (19mm width, 75mm long)t make lap-shear specemen for testing the adhesive.

I appreciate your experience in designing a mold to make coupons.

Are there published design for a mold for rubber or palstic or silicone or polyurethane?

Thanks

I have several questions regarding your lapshear issues. Are you using uncured PU? Is the adhesive you are testing cured? Are you going to test tensile strength? Are you using aluminum, steel coupons, brushed or plain? I am interested in your project, and may be of some assistace

I am trying to pour uncured polyurethane into a mold and cure it to make a lap shear specemen for tensile testing.

Right now my mold produces not so good specemens (some, or most often with bubbles). I am search for a better mold design to make more reliable specemen for testing.

yes, testing adhesive on aluminum as well as steel coupons.

1. first I apply the adhesive on one end of a rectangular coupon ( two rectangular coupons make up a lap shear specemen)

2. put one copoun in the mold with twospacers.

3. pour uncured into the spcace, then put the second coupon on top of the uncured material.

4. put the whole thing into oven to cure.

I do not like the mold I have and hoping for a better design. If you have mold already in use and can make good specemens reliability i will be very happy to hear from you.
