Hyd.Test after repair
Hyd.Test after repair
(OP)
I have to install a 3/4" nozzle in a H.Pressure exchanger designed in acc. with ASME VIII di. 2.
I'm not performin any welds on the pressure resistand body.
Is the Hyd.Test requested? if yes for which article?
Thanks

RE: Hyd.Test after repair
On a Div II vessel the designer should sign off on the addition if it is added to the vessel and specify if a hydrotest is needed. Either the joursdictional agency’s or the insurance agency’s authorized inspector should have signed off on the addition and possibly of requiring a repair plan.
I don’t think anyone can answer your question without a little more detail and what jurisdictions you are under.
Having said that, small nozzles (2" and under) usually don’t cause any problems, but on a Div II vessel it requires some more effort to get the job done right.

The nozzle will be istalled and welded directly to the internal loose liner plate.
We choose this solution to avoid the repetition of the PWHT.
