Parachute drying tower
Parachute drying tower
(OP)
I have a project to design a parachute drying tower. Basically, it's a tall metal building where they hang parachutes on hoists and run the A/c units heater to dry the chutes. I'm looking for some help on how to calculate drying times and/or how much heat its going to take to dry a parachute in a day. Any help would be appreciated!

RE: Parachute drying tower
Multiply the difference in lbs by 970 BTU/lb (latent heat vaporization for water) and this will tell you the number of BTU's required. To getr BTU/HR, you have to find out how fast you want to dry it.
I don't know anything about this process other than that. The details about this process will either make that BTU/HR number higher or lower.
At least this will get you an order of magnitude.
