Lighten a solid created from surfaces

Lighten a solid created from surfaces

Lighten a solid created from surfaces

(OP)
I've create a solid with the "close surface" tool (CATpart workbench), from about 500 small areas.

Now my file is too big: 11 MEG.

I’d like to know if it's possible to lighten my solid (e.g. detach the solid from the areas...)

Thanks.

RE: Lighten a solid created from surfaces

Do you need to keep the surfaces?

If all you need is a solid that cannot be edited, copy the solid into a new catpart and paste it there. You can either paste with link, to keep it associated to the original file, or paste as result to only have the resultant solid. This file should be much smaller in size.
