IFC--Chapter 37 re: ozone generation

IFC--Chapter 37 re: ozone generation

(OP)
I realize this is not an IFC forum, but hope I will find some knowledgeable individuals.

I am installing an ozone generator/injection system to treat my process water & deal with ongoing micro issues.  My company has installed ozone systems at several of our plants, but none in the past few years.

The subject of IFC Chapter 37 & regulations relating to ozone generation has come up.  Is anyone familiar with this section?  It states quite clearly that any non-welded piping will need to be within an "exhausted enclosure."

I have several questions:
1.  What is an "exhausted enclosure?"  Does the fact that the connection will be within a properly exhausted room satisfy this requirement?
2.  Is it necessarily to retrofit past installations to satisfy this requirement?
3.  Does anyone know when this section was added?

Thanks,

Kristen
