Pressure drop software

(OP)
I've been trying hard to find a good software to calculate pressure drop for liquids and compressible gases. Does anyone know of any good ones and where I can get them?

Thanks

RE: Pressure drop software

as in through pipes? check out pipephase.

RE: Pressure drop software

A good pressure drop calculator is free to download from the link below. (this is for liquids)

Regards,

Believe it or not : Goldbach's conjecture says any even number can be written as a sum of two prime numbers. Postulated in 16th century, nobody could, so far, prove it nor disproove it.

RE: Pressure drop software

If you assume no significant dP across the section you can use the same equation as for the liquids...

cheers,
Joisy

Dear Jingle,

Try Fluidflow get a demo version from www.fluidflowinfo.com. Demo is Version2 but version 3 is now available. If in UK call 0161 366 1188 and they can give upto date info on it. Excellent programme.

Good Luck

PW

RE: Pressure drop software

Check www.aft.com for AFT Fathom (incompressible) and AFT Arrow (compressible).  Both good flow programs.

RE: Pressure drop software

PipeNet is another powerful tool offered commercially, at reasonable cost for perpetual licences.

RE: Pressure drop software

What about Plantflow by bentley?  Has anyone tried it?  Is it any good?

RE: Pressure drop software

Try the reasonably priced software at
http://www.abzinc.com/
which is the successor to Crane Companion

best wishes, sshep

I also use Design Flow solutions mentioned by sshep.
