Baseband and Synthesiser hopping in GSM

Baseband and Synthesiser hopping in GSM

Baseband and Synthesiser hopping in GSM

(OP)
Hi,

Can someone confirm wht I believe is correct ref freq hopping in GSM.

Baseband hopping allows the hopping over all transceivers in a cell (Bar the BCCH chsnnel) on a per tdma slot basis.

Synthesiser hopping allows hopping on a per transceiver basis only. i.e all you are really doing is hopping across the eight timeslots on the same transceiver.

Can anyone confirm this

Thanks in advance

Billy C

RE: Baseband and Synthesiser hopping in GSM

Baseband - Call hops between different TRX each of which is on a different static frequency.

Synthesized - Call stays on same TRX but the TRX hops between different frequencies.
