I am in an assembly Model and editing a part-adding an extrusion to it, and when I hit extrude the view circles around and shows me the standard iso view.  Its a real pain, because I am extruding to a surface of a different part so I have to rotate and zoom to that surface.  I think this just started, but am not sure. Maybe I'm just getting to sensitive about it today?  I want the current view to remain where I'm working. Have I changed something?

I think that anytime you want to extrude, the view moves to iso as an attempt to help you.  This is so the user can better see what the cut or extrusion is going to do.  I have no idea of how to turn the action off.  I will update this post if I find one.

Have you tried hitting the previous view button? (usually to the left of Zoom to Fit)

that "Should" take you back to the View that you had to rotate and zoom to get...
