Acad 2004 quick commands

Acad 2004 quick commands

Up until autocad 2004 you could customize your keyboard commands by changing the acad.pgp file. So when I installed 2004 I located & changed my .pgp file and thought all was good. I started using 2004 and my changes to the .pgp file have not changed anything. I have been using the same altered commands for years and am not about to change.

How do I change the quick commands????? This is driving me nuts.

RE: Acad 2004 quick commands

Hi,
there's a new folder for Your own acad.pgp. Search on c:\...<userneme>...acad.pgp
Or use "aliasedit" from ExpressTools1-9

RE: Acad 2004 quick commands

It's me again:

AutoCAD 2004 based products have changed the default support path settings from previous AutoCAD versions. AutoLib needs to add its entry into the ACAD.PGP file.  Select BROWSE to locate the ACAD.PGP file. By default, the location of this file is at:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2004\R16.0\enu\Support

Thanks Exxit. I wonder if they could have hidden that a little better.

RE: Acad 2004 quick commands

The odd thing is that teckno said, in the initial post that "I located & changed my .pgp file", so why did finding it again help?

RE: Acad 2004 quick commands

It would seem I have multiple coppies of the pgp file. I changed one that I found in a support directory but not the one exxit pointed out. Once I changed that one it worked. One wierd thing I have noticed is that even though I changed copy to be "c" instead of "cp" and circle to be "cc" instead of "c" if I type in "cp" I still get copy. Kinda strange.

I added "rc" to be "_revcloud" but it doesn't work. I get a "Unknown command "_REVCLOUD"" response. If I type in "_revcloud" it works though. If I pick it from the draw dropdown menu it works as "_revcloud".

I'm baffled and confused and wasting entirely too much time with acad2004.

RE: Acad 2004 quick commands

I always do these changes through the menu
Express -> Tools -> Command alias editor

RE: Acad 2004 quick commands

Hi,
after editing the acad.pgp-file in the support-folder You have to reload the file
-> "_reinit"-> check pgp-file-> enter
