Hole series Command in SW2003

Hole series Command in SW2003

Hole series Command in SW2003

(OP)
I am trying to cut a 10mm hole through two mated parts using "Hole series", I have tried every permutation I can think of and occasionally it works for no apparent reason. The message I always get returned is "The end face cannot terminate the external feature" I have selected the check box for automatic end hole size based on first hole size. I have no "build errors" returned.

RE: Hole series Command in SW2003

What it is telling you is that for the feature it thinks you have told it to build (which might not be quite what you think you did) it cannot logically end the feature at the face it thinks you actually told it to use (again maybe not what you think you did).

This may be due to geometry - like you are (or it is by default) trying to cut extrude in the wrong direction or you are picking the wrong end face.

...Or the method you are using "hole series" is not appropriate for this use.
