Hello All, I work in automotive

Hello All,

I work in automotive industrie as development engineer. We are now considering new processes to manufacture aluminium parts searching for weight and cost reduction.

Could anyone give me some info about reliability, machine manufacturers and final properties of parts?

The issue is that we have information about different Semi Solid processes but this info comes from machine manufacturers...

Thanks in advance.

RE: Hello All, I work in automotive

I just came across another site with some excellent information on semi-solid processing of aluminum.  Volume 18 No. 2 of Metallurgical Science and Technology has some papers by experts in the field, like Merton Flemings from MIT and Davidson & Griffiths from CSIRO:

Thank you for your help TVP!

I downloaded the SAE Papers and found them very interesting (well, exactly what I was searching for).We have the intention to buy some others from the SAE web.

I also looked at the other web directions and found some very interesting info.

It seems to be a deep world...

Thank you again and see you.
