RE: etabs v. 7.1 examples

Well, if you are going to stay with ETABS V7 (which I do not recommend because V8 is vastly superior) I suggest you upgrade to the latest V7 version which was V7.24.  The 7.10 version had many bugs and the analysis and design results are sometimes strange.
If you need to get the "feeling" of ETABS fast, go to CSI site (www.csiberkeley.com) and take a look at the Watch and Learn videos.  That will be helpful.

RE: etabs v. 7.1 examples

I think that amadeus recomendation is a good one.

I also have a question to amadeus, what are the bugs that you have observed or you know that ETABS V7.10 have? I worked recently with ETABS V7.10 and i would like to know what are the bugs version 7.10 have...

thank you for your attention..

RE: etabs v. 7.1 examples

Well, I haven't used V7 for more than a year but if memory does not fail the joint stress calculations for seismic design of concrete frames were flawed at the first stages of V7.  Most of the bugs were fixed in the last (V7.24) version so that is why I recommended jmendez to upgrade.
