Why is it not possible for automotive tier 1 customers to import STEP and IGES?

Our industrial customers do this with no difficulty.

RE: Automotive CATIA import STEP and IGES

With the Big three, they want their suppliers to provide native CAD files for drawing and 3d model. As much as possible with parameters.  When you give them igs, they have to do additional work on them to make them into a dumb solid. Stp is already a dumb solid. (Dumb no parameters).
