FIX32 AND SLC 5/05 WHAT DRIVER?

FIX32 AND SLC 5/05 WHAT DRIVER?

FIX32 AND SLC 5/05 WHAT DRIVER?

(OP)
Has anyone every connect an AB 5/05 to a FIX32 Scada node using ethernet? If so, which driver(s)did you have to use?

RE: FIX32 AND SLC 5/05 WHAT DRIVER?

Hello;
     You will need RsLinx, either the OEM version or the professional version. OEM is cheaper. You will also need the ABR driver. As an alternative, you can also use the OPC driver and set up an OPC topic in RsLinx.
     The version of RsLinx that comes with RsLogix will not work.

Thanks,

I knew I would need a "bigger" version of Lynx, just wasn't sure about the Fix32 side of it.

Are the drivers difficult to setup. We are currently using Fix with a Simantic 565, and those are a breeze.

Just doesn't seem fair that you need two drivers to communicate with one device, but that's AB for ya.

RE: FIX32 AND SLC 5/05 WHAT DRIVER?

Hello;
     The drivers are not hard to setup at all. A slower, but cheaper alternative is to use the iFIX DF1 driver and use the serial port of the SLC. In this case you do not need RsLinx.
