hi all,
looking for a pressure transducer to be installed in an extruder machine. i want to fit it into the barrel to see what pressure is being generated.
maximum pressure is 250bar
maximun temperature is 230 deg oC
must be a 3 wire either 4-20mA or 0-10v output
sizes 1/4 " or 1/2" thread
any help is most welcome on finding a suitable part

Leslie,
    I would take a look at "Efector" brand. You probably have to order a custon sensor from them if you want to operate at 230 celsius.

Dynisco makes sensors specifically for melt pressure sensing.  I would look at their catalog.  From what you say you are interested in, I believe something should be standard.

Try looking at PT46xx series (pg78 in 5th edition catalog)

MPI Melt Pressure offers a very good economical pressure transmitter.

Check out the MT204 series.

Only costs around $480

Check www.globalspec.com in and in its transducers and sensors devision. then go through choosing your sensor, step by step. It's a huge database. I hope it would help.
